From 24th to 26th of April, a trial application of Vermactiv took place in the Lomnice forest, in the Sýkoř district. Vermaktiv Stimul Forest is a natural non-toxic pests, bark beetles included, repellent that increases trees’ resistance and prevents infection.
First, the forest was scanned using multispectral camera to obtain accurate data on the condition of the tree cover. Subsequently, several hectares of the forest were treated with the help of a spray drone and a helicopter in accordance with previously prepared methodology. Part of the forest was left untreated for future inspection.
The product should now work, about 6 weeks after the first application, the tree covers should be monitored again using the same method.
It was historically the first methodological and monitored application of such an extent. The results of this test will be important for research and subsequently also for forestry.
